๐ฑ Progress on the raised garden bed: We added calf bedding and gorse mulch as two additional layers to the branches and sheep wool. This layering approach is grounded on the concept of hugelkultur. Note: We’re also collecting materials for the Collingwood Area School garden. See the bottom of the main page for what’s needed.
Fermentation is one of the oldest and most powerful food preservation traditions. And it’s far simpler than most people think. Eight people came together to share experiences and discuss five fermentation recipes and taste the produce! We will share a recipe booklet in the future.

We covered:
- ๐ฅฌ Kimchee: spiced, crunchy Korean-style fermented vegetables
- ๐ฅ Dairy kefir: a tangy cultured milk drink from live grains
- ๐ฅฌ Sauerkraut: simple salted, naturally fermented cabbage
- ๐ต Kombucha: lightly fizzy fermented tea
- ๐ซGinger beer: a fizzy, naturally fermented ginger
